The Value of the Compliant HR Policy Manual - Dave Kitchen, HR Covered: In Canada, businesses and NFP's have leverage on just two things: employment contracts and the compliant policy manual. A compliant policy manual also benefits the employee by laying out the rules of engagement. However, it's main function is to support the employment contract to give the employer maximum protection. In this talk, Darcy explains the four key components of the compliant policy manual. Key Compliance Policies: including the statement of human rights commitment and more. Employment Standards: Including the six mandatory policies that every organization needs, such as a termination policy. Legislated Health & Safety: Including workplace anti-violence, workplace anti-harassment, & a discrimination policy with an emphasis on training. Key Conduct and Discipline Policies: Including custom safety forms and documents to meet specific safety needs to protect your employees.
