CCEA Summit 2026
The Chamber of Commerce Executives of Alberta (CCEA) will be hosting Summit 2026 in St. Albert from June 11-13, 2026!
Here's a sneak peek of the conference program:
Peer Discussions - Advocacy in Alberta is Not Neutral
- What advocacy issue caused the most internal debate at your Chamber?
- Where does your Board get nervous about advocacy?
- What pressure do you feel from local government when you advocate?
- What issue do members expect you to speak on - even when it’s risky?
- What’s one advocacy success you don’t talk about enough?
- Where do Chambers in Alberta most often blur advocacy and politics?
Group Scenario Exercise - The Alberta Advocacy Line
- Is this advocacy, political, or partisan?
- What’s the risk of speaking? What’s the risk of silence?
- Who should approve the response?
- What language keeps the Chamber credible?
Conference attendees have been asked to anonymously submit an advocacy situation that made them hesitate, stall or lose sleep.
As a table, you’ll discuss:
- What was the real constraint (Board Member fears, politics, timing, authority)?
- What would you document?
- What would you say publicly vs. privately?
- Who should carry the message (ED, Chair, Coalition)?
